Classroom:Mitch is an outstanding student, majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations. He holds an overall cumulative GPA of 3.8 and has a reached a perfect 4.0 GPA in three of the past four semesters, including an unbelievable mark of 4.12 this past fall. He was named Academic All-Ivy last spring and earned the team’s C.F. Morse Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. He is on course to graduate this spring and hopes to work in the finance or real estate industries.
Character:Mitch was chosen to serve as the team’s co-captain this season and has served his team with a tremendous amount of character and leadership. In addition to being the captain of the men’s lacrosse team, he has also served as the President of his fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega. He is a consummate leader on and off the field, as a student, as an athlete, and as a student of the game. He’s meticulous in his leadership and preparation, and he provides the coaching staff with a well-rounded field captain. His coaches praise him for demonstrating respect to those around him and exemplifying the highest level of sportsmanship.
Competition:Mitch was a named a preseason All-American prior to the 2007 lacrosse campaign after earning an honorable mention All-America selection, and being named first-team All-Ivy, following his junior season. He is regularly assigned the opponent's most dangerous offensive threat and has proved to be one of the best defenseman in the nation. A converted midfielder, Belisle made the unselfish move to the defense and has turned into a three-year starter for the Big Red.
