Classroom:Is a cognitive science major and has been named to the ACC Honor Roll for each of his three years at Virginia. Was also named to the 2006 All-ACC Academic Men’s Lacrosse team.
Community: Thompson is a board member for the Louis Acompora Foundation. The foundation was started to honor Thompson’s childhood friend and high school teammate, Louis Acompora, who died of a heart condition called Commotio Cordis. The foundation focuses on the placement of portable defibrillators in all schools and athletics events.
Competition:Heading into his senior season, Drew was named Preseason All-American by Face-Off Yearbook. In 2006, he tied a Virginia record and led the nation’s midfielders with 23 assists. He scored 40 total points, ninth in the history of Virginia lacrosse for a midfielder.
